My Perfect Weekend.

Living across the river from Quebec definitely has its perks. Being able to enjoy one of the 8 275 lakes within its borders is just one of them. Cheap alcohol is another.

I have no idea which of the many lakes this is, just that I wish I could have stayed longer...

But I had to leave one spectacular place to head for another. Les Trois Erables is perfect for couples looking to get away for a night, or a weekend. Quiet, beautiful, and as romantic as you want it to be, this place is also run by a fabulous and spunky friend of mine. I cannot wait to go back!

My very first honest-to-goodness love letter, and I am oh-so happy that it was Kwesi who wrote it for me. I feel lucky all the time that the man who I was once just friends with, had the good sense God gave him to come get me and win me over. Hands down, this moment was the highlight of the trip for me. 

Oh, unless you count the so-good-I-almost-cried meal we had at The Village House on Saturday night. Toss, up really. (Not really.)

After an amazing 3-course breakfast on Sunday morning, we went to check out the Wakefield Covered Bridge. Rebuilt after a fire in 1997, and very pretty...a great place to take pictures!

With all that we have going on in our day to day lives, and with all of the distractions and interruptions we deal with on a daily basis (what is it with ex-wives anyways?!), we are committed to each other, and to getting the heck out of dodge from time to time. It is as important as open communication, honesty and trust. All of which we have. All of which will make sure we stand the test of time.
